Phantom
I wasnât given any time to get ahold of myself. I was barely hanging on by a thread when Reaper called church. Once again, I found myself sitting across from a man who saw too much and knew too much. With one word from him, he could decimate me.
I didnât want to be in this room.
I wanted to run.
I needed to get out of this place and never look back.
I couldnât get Kittyâs words out of my head. She knew. She said that he loved me and never stopped. She was wrong. No man would spend seven years loving a woman who couldnât, who refused to love him back.
It was unthinkable.
âWell,â Reaper said, wiping blood off his hands.
âWell, what?â I smirked.
âDonât fuck with me right now, Dylan. What did you learn?â
âWait a fucking minute,â My head snapped up. âWhat do you mean by that? He walked away from the club. Didnât he? Has he been a member all this time?â I said, never taking my eyes off Dylan. Like all the times before, he never gave anything away.
The man was still closed off.
âYou were right,â Dylan ignored my stares and said, âXavier Goldmanâs son is still alive. He is the head of the Society.â
âWhat else?â
âYou sure you want this dirty laundry aired? Once itâs out, it canât be put back in the bottle.â
âItâs time,â Reaper nodded, settling himself in for a lengthy conversation.
âHave it your way,â Dylan shrugged and began.
I listened with the rest of them about what Dylan had been up to since he left the club. It was unbelievable. What he learned was that shit nightmares were made of. In the end, no one said a word, absorbing everything Dylan had just said.
Ghost was the first to speak, âHold up. You mean to tell me that Bullseye has been on assignment this whole time?â
Reaper calmly responded, âSince I sent him after your brother Malachi over a year and a half ago. When I looked into Malachiâs folder, some things didnât make sense. I knew something wasnât right and asked Dylan to look into things. I needed someone who could blend, someone who everyone wouldnât think twice if he ever walked away from the club. Someone who believed in something stronger than this club, the brotherhood we have. Dylan fit the bill.â
âBut you couldnât have known what would happen.â Ghost said in disbelief, as he looked from Dylan to Reaper.
âYouâre right. I had no idea how deep this treachery went. When I asked Dylan to look into things, I had no idea where this club was headed but I knew if I didnât do something fast, this club would be eradicated. So, Dylan and I came up with a plan. However, when Kitty was killed, becoming another victim of this mess, I thought I would have to find someone else. Then three months after her death, Dylan sent me a text telling me he had found what we were looking for. I knew then that the game was still in play.
